As Halloween approaches, families need to keep safety tips in mind to prevent accidents and injuries. According to Safe Kids Worldwide, children are more than twice as likely to be hit and killed by a car on Halloween than any other day of the year. Here are some ways to stay safe this Halloween as a pedestrian and a driver.
The Greer Police Department and the City of Greer will host their second annual Trunk-or-Treat on Trade event on October 26th. The event will feature free Domino's pizza, a photo booth, touch-a-truck experiences for kids, and plenty of candy. Costumes are encouraged, and attendees can vote on their favorite trunk display. The event aims to build positive relationships with first responders and create community connections. Last year's event was a great success, and this year's event will have triple the number of trunks.
The Greer Farmers Market is hosting its annual trick-or-treat market on Oct. 24, with over 45 local vendors, live music, food trucks and plenty of candy. The event is a partnership between the Greer Farmers Market and Greer Alive, and will take place in Greer City Park from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. The market will also host its annual Chili Cookoff on Nov. 14.
