Byrnes High School’s Addie Durrah is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.
Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.
In two big wins for Byrnes in region play this week, Durrah was the standout. The eighth-grader went 7-8 at the plate with two home runs, 10 total RBIs and seven runs. She also threw 1.2 innings and collected four strikeouts vs. Spartanburg while allowing no hits.
Nominees for the week of March 23-29 included Durrah, Jay Watson of Eastside lacrosse, Nathan Purica of Riverside tennis, and Dawson Szabo of Blue Ridge golf.
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
