Roberts named GreerNews Athlete of the Week

Greer High School’s Gracey Roberts is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

At the 4-A Region 2 championship rounds, Roberts shot a 78 to place tied for third overall amongst all golfers in the region.

Roberts was named an all-region golfer, and her performance helped the Lady Jackets finish third overall as a team, clinching a berth in the Upper State championship rounds.

This week, Roberts became the first girls golfer in Greer history to qualify for participation in the overall state championships.

Nominees for the week of Oct. 13-19 included Roberts, Cooper Smith of Blue Ridge, and Jonathan Montgomery of Byrnes.

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
