Eastside High School’s Kellen Smouse is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

Smouse took home the championship at this weekend's Greenville County Tournament, placing 1st in the 150-lb weight class.

Nominees for the week of Jan. 12-18 included Smouse, Chase Hoover of Blue Ridge, and Kellen Leverett of Byrnes. 

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
