The Greer Cultural Arts Council held its annual Holiday Arts Fair on Saturday, Nov. 22.

The event drew large crowds, filling the center’s parking lot with some cars parking alongside the road. 29 local vendors were selling their work, and young Pianist Zach Shaduk performed holiday tunes on the keyboard as attendees shopped.

In addition to vendors, the Arts Council hosted the Empty Bowls Project at the Fair. This is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by art organizations at the community level. At the Fair, attendees could purchase locally-crafted bowls to benefit Greer Community Ministries.

According to Robin Byouk, Cultural Arts Supervisor at the Council, the Empty Bowls project in Greer is in memory of Gary Huntoon, a former ceramics instructor who founded the Center for the Arts clay program.
