The Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is honoring the 246th anniversary of the Revolutionary War battle of Musgrove’s Mill.
From 7 to 9:15 a.m. Aug. 19 there will be a special Ranger Guided Battlefield Hike offered. This Ranger-led hike will cover the 1.5-mile battlefield trail. Learn about why the battle was fought at Musgrove Mill, who participated, what occurred during the battle and the importance of the battle to the Patriot cause.
The cost of the hike is $5 per person.
Space is limited and reservations are required in advance for the hike.

From 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 22, a commemoration will be held at the Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site’s Visitor Center. The commemoration will be led by local chapters of the Children of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution. Following the commemoration there will be light refreshments available.
Directly following the commemoration there will be a Ranger Battlefield Talk on the history of the battle on the porch of the Visitor Center. This one-hour seated lecture will cover the history of why the battle occurred, the specifics of the battle itself and the importance of the battle to the Patriot cause.
This event is free to the public and does not require registration. Bring lawn chairs, bottled water and prepare for the weather.
