With more than eight acres of over 75,000 sunflowers, Denver Downs Farm in Anderson is proud to host the state’s largest Sunflower Festival the weekends of July 11-19.

“Sunflowers just make people happy. We love to share this happiness with guests who come to celebrate the beautiful flower,” Catherine Garrison Davis, co-owner of Denver Downs Farm said. “People come to the farm to not only see and take home our sunflowers but also enjoy nature and make memories. It’s amazing to talk with visitors, get to know our local guests and see how far some have traveled to the SC Sunflower Festival. Each season we have had flower-loving guests visit from about every state in the country.”

In addition to the bright yellow and black sunflowers, Davis said guests will also see exotic sunflower varieties they may have never seen before.

The SC Sunflower Festival kicks off its eighth season with picking, photography, sweet treats, frozen beverages and light food options on July 11. The festival activities run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July 19.

Admission, which can be purchased online now, includes: parking, access to 12 species of sunflowers, a variety of photo stations in the sunflowers, one complimentary sunflower to cut and take home, knowledgeable staff on hand to help you prepare the flowers for your travel home and instruction on how to take care of it once you get home.

“The South Carolina Sunflower Festival is a perfect mother-daughter and girlfriends-get-together experience, or a memorable date with someone you love to plan and put on your calendar,” Davis said.

There will be special photo op areas that are a tribute to the United States 250th Celebration as the country celebrates its 250th birthday in 2026.

Light food options will be available. Beverages offered on site include the famous Denver Downs lemonade and summer flights of Mimosas, Sunflower Sangrias, Flower Frose and mocktails - at the Vine and Barrel Beer Garden by the Silo Bar in the center of the farm.

Photographers are welcome and may take photos during public times, or reserve private photography session times.

Children's activities will be limited to non-staffed activities.

Dogs on leashes are permitted to attend and require separate admission.

Tickets online are $12 per person for all-day admission to the flower fields.

A large bucket of u-pick sunflowers is $29.95.  Smaller bundles of flowers are available to take home in Keepsake Jars for $19.95.
