The Greer Commission of Public Works (Greer CPW) will host two community blood drives this week in support of The Blood Connection and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston.
On Thursday, June 4, in Greer, and Saturday, June 6, in Landrum, Greer CPW is encouraging residents to help save lives while supporting families in need. These drives are part of the organization’s ongoing partnership with The Blood Connection, which hosts quarterly donation events at the office.
In addition to helping meet critical blood supply needs, the event will also benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities Charleston. For every 30 donors who participate, The Blood Connection will make a financial contribution to the nonprofit, which provides housing and support for families with children undergoing medical treatment.
“We want to do our part to support staff and their families,” said Alison Rauch, Public Information Coordinator. “Our hope is that we can be a blessing to the next patient who needs blood during surgery.”
As a thank you, blood donors will receive $30 in eGift cards from The Blood Connection. Here’s a closer look at the details for this week’s drives:
