Schools in Greer performed at or above the state level in all subject areas, according to school officials.
A few weeks ago, GreerNews reported on Greenville County Schools’ student performance on SC Ready and End-of-Course exams. This report showed that the school system outperformed the state in all subject areas. Now, here is a closer look at the performance of the schools within Greer.
According to school system officials, elementary schools are demonstrating year-over-year growth, middle schools are making impressive gains in literacy and high schools are excelling in English, while strengthening math.
Here is a breakdown of SC Ready test results for elementary and middle schools in Greer:
Elementary Schools
Buena Vista Elementary School:Â

According to school officials, Skyland Elementary had one of the strongest upward trends in all subject areas. Every GCS elementary school maintained or increased ELA and/or Math scores from 2023-24 to 2024-25 school year.Â

Blue Ridge Middle School:Â
English Language Arts Proficiency: 68.5%
Math Proficiency: 48.9%
Riverside Middle School:Â
English Language Arts Proficiency: 75.4%Â
Math Proficiency: 61.3% in Math
Greer MS:Â
English Language Arts Proficiency: 51.3%
Math Proficiency: 35.2%
School officials noted that Greer Middle has shown forward momentum, despite being behind Blue Ridge and Riverside. In English Language Arts, Greer Middle improved by eight percentage points from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2024-2025 school year.
At the high school level, English results are particularly strong for End-of-Course Exams. Blue Ridge and Riverside High Schools consistently perform well above statewide averages, while Greer High School typically aligns with state averages.Â

Biology I (2025 Passing Rates):
Riverside HS – 85.3%
Blue Ridge HS – 85.0%
Greer HS – 60.1%
School officials noted that Blue Ridge High School was the district’s top performing high school for the 2024-2025 school year.Â
 Greenville County Schools also reported on WIN Assessment results for the district’s high schools. Students were given an opportunity to obtain a career readiness credential. Here is a breakdown of credential attainment for high schools in Greer:

Riverside HS – 90.7% of students credentialed
Blue Ridge HS – 78.3%
Greer HS – 71.2%
Across Greenville County, 74.4% of students earned a WIN Career Readiness Credential, exceeding the statewide rate of 69%. School officials also note that high numbers of students earned Level 3 and Level 4 credentials, signaling mastery of workplace skills.
