The Town of Lyman will host its first State of the Town address at 6 p.m. on March 3, at the Lyman Event Center at Pacific Place.
The evening will provide residents with a comprehensive look at the town's achievements, current initiatives, ongoing challenges and vision for the future. The event will also include recognition of outstanding town employees and citizens who have made significant contributions to the community.
Former state Rep. Rita Allison, who represented House District 36 and served as the governor's appointee to the South Carolina Board of Education, will help host the event.
"We're excited to host this community event," Mayor David Petty said. "This is an opportunity to celebrate what we've accomplished together, have an honest conversation about where we are and share our vision for where we're headed. Transparency and community engagement are essential to good governance."
Following the address, residents will have the opportunity to meet with council members, share their concerns and issues for review by town staff and fellowship with other residents of the community.
The event is free and open to all Lyman residents and community members. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Lyman Event Center at Pacific Place is located at 59 Groce Road, Lyman, S.C. 29365. Parking is available on site, in the lots next door at The Park of Lyman and across the street in the First Baptist Church parking lot.
