The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported two fatal traffic incidents over the holiday in Greenville and Spartanburg Counties.

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, there was a fatal collision in Spartanburg County on U.S. Highway 176 near Grandview Drive. According to officials with the Highway Patrol, an SUV traveling west on the highway attempted to make a left turn into a private drive and collided with a motorcycle traveling eastbound.

Officials say that the motorcyclist, identified as Fredrick Eugene Dotson, died as a result of his injuries. He was 62 years old and from Simpsonville. This incident occurred at approximately 4:09 p.m.

On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, there was a fatal collision in Greenville County on Pelham Road near Graystone Road. Just past 2 a.m., a car traveling on Pelham Road went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. 

The driver of the vehicle, Brock Milfred Jr. of Mauldin, was pronounced dead on the scene. He was 40 years old and the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Both of these incidents are still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
