Single-vehicle crash leaves one dead near Wade Hampton Blvd.

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Taylors on Tuesday evening.

Around 9:25 p.m., first responders responded to the area of E. Main Street near Wade Hampton Boulevard in reference to a single-vehicle collision. 

According to SC Highway Patrol (SCHP) Master Trooper William Bennett, a 2013 Chrysler 300 was turning left from Valley Road onto E. Main Street when they struck a curb, ran off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and a tree before overturning.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bennett. Three passengers were injured and transported by EMS.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Michael Jaylen Coleman, 28, of Duncan.  

The incident remains under active investigation by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
