The Upstate Renaissance Festival is back again, with several changes. Here’s a guide of what to expect at this year’s faire.

A New Location

The Upstate Renaissance Festival began in 2021 and has historically been held in Greer City Park. In its first year, the Festival says it brought over 10,000 people to the city.

This year, however, the festival finds itself in a new home. From Sept. 12-14, Upstate residents are invited to come out to the Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds in Spartanburg. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best historical or fantasy garb.

While no longer held in the city, Greer still gets to leave its mark on the festival. One local business, Not Just Gamin’, will be a vendor at the festival. In addition to selling their products, they will be hosting live Dungeons & Dragons competitions throughout the faire. Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing tabletop game.

Darkstar Machinations, a Greer-based jewelry and adornment business, will also be a vendor at the faire. These are just two of the many Upstate-owned businesses that will be represented at the festival. Be sure to support Upstate businesses during your visit.
