Dorothy Center Gonzalee Arms passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Gonzalee and Irene Wade Center and the loving wife of the late Gentry Arms.
Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a faithful member of Duncan First Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress at Springs Textile for many years. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed quilting and reading, finding comfort and joy in the things she loved most.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Steve Arms; daughter-in-law, Beth Arms; grandchildren, Shawn Edwards (Randy), Nicole Johnson (Matt); and Matthew Arms (Tiffany); and great grandchildren, Ethan Edwards (Ryleigh), Anna Grace, Kolton, Reagan, Fischer, Griffin, Grayson, and Gentry.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Larry Arms; her brothers, Smiley Center and Claude Center; her four half-sisters, Wilma Lambert, Annie Lambert, Carolyn Powell, and Janette Benton; her stepfather, Gilbert Lambert; and her stepmother, Mae Lambert.
The family will receive friends at noon Oct. 14 at Duncan First Baptist Church. A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. A private burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ethan, Griffin, Fischer, Grayson, Kolton, and Gentry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ritchie Twiddy and Donnie Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Duncan First Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will be at their respective homes.
