Howard Norman Washburn, 93, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away October 2, 2026.
A native of Binghamton, New York, son of the late William and Susie Smith Washburn, he was a retired employee of Link Aviation and member of Community Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Ann Patton Washburn of the home; two daughters, Brenda Dempsey (Stephen) of Landrum, South Carolina and Shirley Buchanan (Greg) of Kingsport, Tennessee; two sons, Brian Washburn (Julie) of Alexander, North Carolina and Kevin Washburn (Julia) of Pelham, Alabama; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by six brothers, Walter, John, Clarence, Earl, Burt and Richard Washburn and two sisters, Annabelle Johnson and Ella Boyce.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. Grover Timms. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Oct. 8 at The Wood Mortuary prior to the service.
