Irene Heaton Grant, 98, of Taylors, South Carolina, wife of the late George Washington Grant, Jr., passed away June 6, 2026.
A native of Hart County, Georgia, daughter of the late Ollice Grover and Mary Lucy Pulliam Heaton, she was long retired and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Pyle (Terry) of Montana, Marianne Dowless (Charles) of Sumter and Margaret Crump of Taylors; one son, Fred E. Crump, Jr. (Lori) of Taylors; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Roy Heaton and Howard Heaton; two sisters, her twin sister, Lorene Adams and Ruby Nell Bannister; and one stepson, Phillip Anthony Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. June 12 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Pastor Lonnie Polson and Rev. Al Sherbert, webcasting will be available at www.thewoodmortuary.com. A private committal service will be held.
Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. June 12, at The Wood Mortuary.
