Kellie McElrath Burdette passed away on May 13, 2026.
Born Sept. 23, 1959, to the late Bobby Lee and Judith Walker McElrath in Lyman, South Carolina. Kellie was a retiree of Shriners Children's Hospital and a lifelong member of First Baptist Lyman where she was a member of The Branches Sunday School Class. Kellie was devoted to her job as a nurse in the operating room for over 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and Mimi. Kellie loved to spend time at the beach, by the pool and reading on her porch.
Kellie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis Burdette of the home; a son, Adam Burdette (Mackenzie) of Duncan; a daughter, Megan Burdette of Moore; three grandchildren, Walker, Eliza, and Vivian; two sisters, Cheri Wofford of Moore and Laurie Ferguson (Chip) of Moore; a sister-in-law, Betty Tolleson of Roebuck; many loving nieces. nephews, extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. May 17 at First Baptist Lyman, conducted by Rev. Bill Morris. Honorary escort will be The Branches Sunday School Class of First Baptist Lyman.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:45 p.m. May 17 at the church.
The family is at their respective homes.
