Larry Joe Belcher, husband of Myra Dill Belcher, passed away Nov. 10, 2025.

He was the son of the late Howard and Ethel Brown Belcher. Larry was raised by the old mill hill standard of a fair days’ work for a fair days’ pay, lend a hand to your neighbor when you can and accept help when you need it and he carried that all through his life. He loved growing up on the mill hill in the days when children could roam free and he had lots of stories to tell. Larry was a proud Rebel graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and followed Rebel sports as long as his health allowed. Mr. Belcher was a member of Startex United Methodist Church until its closing. He retired from Cemex, formerly Metromont Materials in 2009, and spent his retirement years traveling and antiquing with his best friends.

In addition to his wife surviving are, his children, Marty Belcher, Kevin Belcher (Yvonne) and their son, Adler, and Beth Hipp (Jake); stepchildren, Todd Miller (Tammy), Tony Miller (Stacey), and their children and grandchildren.

Mr. Belcher was predeceased by his first wife, Janice Norton Belcher; infant son, Bryan; and sister and brother-in-law, Martha and James Frier.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Wood Memorial Park.

The family will be at their respective homes.

Memorials may be made to your favorite pet shelter or sanctuary.
