Roxie Thelma Martin Brown, 89, wife of the late Walter Eugene “Gene” Brown, passed away October 12, 2026.
A native of Danville, Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Martin and Ruby Jackson Hughes, she was a retired employee of Her Majesty and a member of Apalache Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Sweat (Billy) of Greer; five grandchildren, Chris Brady (Tracy), Melissa Holliday, Jamie Sweat, Trey Brown, and Jessica Sweat (Sean Johnson); and eleven great-grandchildren, Gaven Burnett, Logan Brady, Gracie Sweat, Andrew Holliday, Scarlett Petterson, Connor Johnson, Maverick Sweat, Aiden Holliday, Jaxlyn Brown, Lucas Johnson, and Grayson Johnson.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Eloise Brown and two sisters, Mary Skinner and Velma George.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Brian Childers. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Brady, Logan Brady, Billy Sweat, Sean Johnson, Trey Brown, and Gaven Burnett.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Oct. 15 at The Wood Mortuary.
