Lori Schur, a mother whose son was diagnosed with type one diabetes, will be sharing her story and her first novel, "What Happened to Normal?" at a book festival in Greer on Oct. 18. Schur wrote the book to give hope to parents of children diagnosed with chronic conditions, inspired by her own experience and the experiences of others in the community. While the narrative is based around type one diabetes, Schur says that she wrote the book to be helpful for anyone experiencing a life-altering diagnosis.
