Lori Schur, a mother whose son was diagnosed with type one diabetes, will be sharing her story and her first novel, "What Happened to Normal?" at a book festival in Greer on Oct. 18. Schur wrote the book to give hope to parents of children diagnosed with chronic conditions, inspired by her own experience and the experiences of others in the community. While the narrative is based around type one diabetes, Schur says that she wrote the book to be helpful for anyone experiencing a life-altering diagnosis.

Jon Antonucci, a former inmate turned entrepreneur, has released a book on servant-minded leadership, which is based on his leadership experiences in prison and beyond. The book, Servant-Minded Leadership: How Mindfulness Changes Servant-Leadership, is designed to be applicable to those who read it, with each chapter containing action items for the reader to implement in their own organizations. Antonucci hopes that his book can help break down complex concepts for newer leaders, enabling them to apply these principles and create more effective team environments.
