Greer, Byrnes, Eastside, and Riverside football teams competed in scrimmages on Thursday night. Greer's new quarterback Dawson Fowler performed well against Gaffney's strong defense. Byrnes faced North Carolina powerhouse school Providence Day, with running back Jacobi Fuller scoring a 92-yard touchdown run. Eastside's backfield and offensive line showed promise in a four-team scrimmage, while Riverside's running backs and tackling impressed head coach Matt Rochester, although penalties were a problem.
