South Carolina's disaster relief fund, One SC Fund, has provided nearly $233,000 to the state's four regional food banks to help stock shelves amid the suspension of grocery benefits for 550,000 South Carolinians due to a halt in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. However, the amount raised so far is a fraction of the normal aid provided through the program. The fund collects donations during emergencies to supplement what the government doesn't cover, and Duke Energy made the one major donation to come in so far, giving $100,000. The fund is unlikely to cover the entire gap.
