The City of Greer Fire Department is developing a Public Safety Training Center and training tower to support fire and police operations in a shared environment. The facility includes a classroom, breakout rooms, training grounds, and a multi-story training tower with features such as an elevator shaft prop, roof prop, and anchor points for rope operations and confined space rescue. The training center allows for realistic and consistent training, advanced instruction, and expanded training opportunities, as well as supporting recruitment and retention. The facility also strengthens the connection between the Fire Department and the Police Department, and creates opportunities for community engagement.
