The Greer Police Department has announced the recipients of its annual Employee of the Year awards. Officer Gibson Chambers was named Officer of the Year, Lieutenant Kara Blackwell was named Supervisor of the Year, Officer Tabitha Dick was named Rookie of the Year and Detention Officer Ashley Burton was named Professional of the Year. All four recipients are women, and their achievements have been recognized as representing the highest standards of the agency.

Lieutenant Chris Forrester of the Greer Police Department has successfully completed the FBI National Academy, a rigorous 11-week training program. He is the fifth member of the Greer Police Department to complete the program.
The Greer Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating 17-year-old Rayne Jeppson, who ran away from the Backacre Court area on Friday night. Rayne was last seen wearing a white long T-shirt and red pants. The department is urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.
