Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has successfully implemented its Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program, which has provided over $115,000 in new technology and equipment, as well as supplies, books, and student support for HVAC education. The program has equipped SCC's Cherokee County Campus with state-of-the-art equipment, installed Metasys building automation systems at other campuses, and awarded professional HVAC toolkits to 15 students. In the third year, the toolkit program will be expanded to include all students enrolled in HVAC programs across both campuses. The grant's funding is allocated over three years, including $150,000 in equipment upgrades and installation, $110,000 in supplies, tuition, fees, and books, and $30,000 supporting lunch and learns, curriculum development, training, site visits, and marketing/recruitment initiatives.
