Gibbs Cancer Center has introduced the ION Robotic Bronchoscopy device, a new robotic technology that enables minimally-invasive lung biopsies for the detection of early-stage lung cancer. The robotic-assisted platform allows physicians to access hard-to-reach nodules with greater precision through smaller air passages, providing greater stability and accuracy. Early detection of cancer can significantly improve patient outcomes, and Gibbs Cancer Center conducts over 5,000 low-dose CT screenings each year to detect lung cancer earlier than ever. Patients should consult with their primary care physicians to determine whether to receive a low-dose CT scan.
