Max Metcalf, the manager of government and community relations at BMW Manufacturing, has been named Chairman of the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission. Metcalf, who was appointed to the SCDOT Commission in May 2022, representing the 4th congressional district, is a 1986 graduate of Clemson University. He has a long history of public service, including roles in the Office of Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr. and the Office of Congressman Bob Inglis. Metcalf is also a past chairman of the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the SC Manufacturers Alliance.
