Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has implemented GLiFT, an ergonomic device developed by Salus Scientific, to reduce the physical strain of wearing heavy lead aprons in the cath lab and other imaging environments. The device redistributes the weight of protective lead garments from the shoulders and spine to the hips and legs, which has improved comfort, reduced fatigue, and fewer musculoskeletal complaints for staff. The device has been purchased for use across departments, targeting high-volume procedural areas.
