The Greenville County Schools (GCS) Foundation awarded $1,500 scholarships to 57 high school seniors, totaling $85,500. Additionally, 47 golf scholarships and 10 Future Teacher Scholarships were awarded. The GCS Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to support students and encourage them to join the teaching profession. Since its inception in 1997, the foundation has raised over $850,500 for scholarships.

Sixteen high school seniors from Greenville County Schools have been named as semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The students have the opportunity to compete for over 6,000 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $26 million. The semifinalists represent less than one percent of high school seniors nationwide, and students will be notified in February 2026 if they advance to the finalist level.
