The Greer Farmers Market is introducing a program that will allow attendees to double their SNAP benefits during the 2026 core market season. Shoppers using EBT or SNAP at the market will be able to get double the amount in vouchers, up to $40, in addition to $15 in Healthy Bucks tokens for fruits and vegetables. The program will officially begin on April 26.

Greer Relief, a food assistance organization, is shifting to a Crisis Emergency Food Assistance model due to the federal government shutdown. This change will allow them to give out a more controlled volume of food at a higher frequency, packaging pre-portioned boxes to give to families on a weekly basis. Individuals and families can go to the pantry up to once a week for a box of food, and the organization is expecting to give out at least 100 boxes per day during the crisis period. Those that wish to access Greer Relief's resources are not required to show proof of SNAP benefits in order to receive assistance.
