Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center officially opened this week, bringing adoption services, foster coordination, veterinary care and community resources together under one roof. County leaders say the center’s mission is to support both pets and families through services like low-cost vaccines, spay and neuter procedures, and a pet food pantry. Officials report the center has already assisted dozens of animals and families since beginning operations.

The Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center (PRC) and the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office are hosting a community pet food drive to support local families in need. Residents are encouraged to donate wet or dry dog and cat food at the Sheriff's Office on March 20 and March 27. The PRC pantry provides food for nearly 200 pets each month and is expected to grow once the new facility opens.
