The Greer Touchdown Club honored on Thursday its Players of the Week for games played on Oct. 17.Â
The Offensive Player of the Week award went to Jakorey Dodd of Blue Ridge High School. Dodd rushed 14 times for 207 yards and two touchdowns in Blue Ridge's 48-24 win over Travelers Rest.
The Defensive Player of the Week award went to Jonathan Montgomery of Byrnes. Montgomery had 12 tackles, one forced fumble, and a blocked extra point in the Rebels' 18-6 win over Eastside.
The Greer Touchdown Club meets every Thursday during the football season at His Vineyard Church in Greer, and the public is invited. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $16.
This week's featured guest speaker was Clay Hendrix, head football coach at Furman University.
