FOWLER RECEIVES OFFER FROM GAMECOCKS
Byrnes rising senior point guard Colt Fowler received an offer on Thursday morning from the University of South Carolina.
Fowler, who is considered the top point guard in the state, was named the 2025-26 MaxPreps Player of the Year and the SCBCA Class 5-A Player of the Year after finishing with 24 points and 11 assists per game.Â
Prior to receiving an offer from the Gamecocks, Fowler had received several D-1 offers from schools such as Oral Roberts, Toledo, and Wofford. The Gamecocks became the first Power Four program to offer Fowler.
GREENE, SANDERS SHINE AS BYRNES GOES 2-0 ON DAY 1 OF LIVE PERIOD
At day one of the SCBCA Live Period in North Augusta, Byrnes basketball went 2-0 with dominant wins over Goose Creek and Westwood.
Rising seniors Walker Greene and J'Sean Sanders, who both transferred to Byrnes this season, were bright spots in both games.Â
Greene was tenacious on the defensive end, creating several turnovers and dropping multiple assists into Sanders, who used his 6-foot-7, strong frame to be a menace on the glass and with close-range finishes.
RIVERSIDE'S FRANKLIN EARNS NORTH MVP AT NORTH-SOUTH CLASSIC
Riverside girls soccer star Landry Franklin had an impressive performance at Saturday morning's North-South Classic All-Star Game in Anderson, captaining the North team and being named the North MVP for the Match.
Eastside boys soccer star Asher Wilson was also a standout for the North boys team in the boys match, picking out Southside's Erik Martinez for the game-tying goal with just seconds to go in a 1-1 draw.
