Eastside High School’s Drayton "Ray Ray" Johnson is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

Johnson finished second over the weekend in his 120-lb weight class at the Southern Slam tournament, advancing all the way to the finals and taking down four wrestlers on the way.

Nominees for the week of Dec. 1-7 included Johnson, Macie Hanley of Blue Ridge, and Colt Fowler of Byrnes. 

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
