Eastside High School’s Emmy Rikard is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.
Voting opened Monday and remained open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.
Against Wade Hampton last week, Rikard had two huge saves in overtime, a penalty kick save, and scored the game-winning penalty to give the Lady Eagles a huge region win.
Nominees for the week of April 6-12 included Rikard, Jack Bailey of Byrnes, Sebi Boyogueno of Riverside, and Houston Lancaster of Blue Ridge.
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
