A Lyman man is dead after being struck by a train while walking on the tracks on Tuesday morning, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
Just after 9am, Greenville County Communications received a call in reference to a pedestrian struck by a train. First responders arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
The incident occurred at Rutherford Rd. and E. Warehouse Court in Taylors.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office responded to the incident location along with law enforcement. The Coroner's Office has identified the decedent as Christian Axel Baldwin-Garcia, a 24-year-old man from Lyman.
Preliminary investigation shows the victim was walking along the tracks when struck by the train. An autopsy was performed on the victim on July 22.
The cause of death is blunt force trauma whereas the manner of death remains pending further investigation, said the Coroner’s Office.
