WARHAWKS SEASON COMES TO AN END IN PLAYOFFS

After a successful season which saw Greer Post 115 baseball finish with a winning record and earn a second-place region finish, the Warhawks’ season came to an end in the first round of the SCALB playoffs last week.

Greer Post 115 was swept in a best-of-3 series by Easley Post 52, losing game one at Easley, 5-1, and game two at home by a score of 8-0.

FOWLER SHINES AT 3SSB TOURNAMENT IN ROCK HILL

At the Palmetto Road 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, S.C., Byrnes PG Colt Fowler shined in front of a national audience and plenty of college scouts.

Fowler — who plays for Upward Stars Southeast 17U — scored 26 points and added 7 assists and 6 rebounds in a win over Tennessee Impact. The game was broadcast to a national audience on the NBA official YouTube channel, and Fowler even earned a postgame interview with the NBA TV crew.

The rising senior point guard earned an offer from Jacksonville State during the event.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PRACTICE IN FULL SWING

With 7-on-7s and the dead week officially in the rearview, football practices are picking up for all five Greer-area high school football teams. 

Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, and Blue Ridge are hitting the practice fields this week in preparation for the upcoming 2026 season, which begins on August 21.
