Dining Around Greer set for this weekend, lineup announced

The Rotary Club of Greer has announced the lineup for its third annual Dining Around Greer event, set for this Sunday.

Dining Around Greer is a big fundraising event for the Greer Rotary Club chapter. This year, for under $50, community members can sample dishes from 28 local restaurants and vote on their favorites across three categories. The cost of admission also includes a chance at a Big Screen TV door prize.

Former Rotary Club president Jim Nichols says that the selection process for the restaurants begins several months prior to the event. This year will bring back a few local favorites, in addition to some newer restaurants such as Trade Street Diner and Capri’s Italian.

“Our lineup is a great representation of Greer's culture with the mix of ethnicities of our restaurants,” said Nichols. “We are growing each year, much like Greer, [and] we also [hope to] represent the future of Greer with our partnership with Bonds Career Center, offering scholarships to students in their Culinary Arts program.”

Dining Around Greer will be from 1-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at the Greer City Hall Events Center. Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance online for $35 or at the door for $45. For more information, visit the Rotary Club of Greer’s website.
