The Greenville County Schools Board of Trustees met on Tuesday for a regular meeting, voting to approve a utility easement for two schools.

The easement is for Woodmont Middle School and Sue Cleveland Elementary School, allowing Duke Energy to connect electrical equipment between both schools. The purpose is to provide a more reliable feed for the school buildings.

Trustees approved the easement unanimously.

Also before Trustees was the election of delegates to the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) Legislative Advocacy Conference in December. Trustees unanimously approved the slate of delegates. Every trustee was named as both a delegate and an alternate, with the board chair assigned three votes and all other trustees assigned two votes.

The Board then considered the reappointment of James W. Blakely Jr., Duke McCall, William Renninger and Joseph F. Sullivan to the Building Equity Sooner for Tomorrow (BEST) Board of Directors. Trustees unanimously approved the four individuals to serve an additional three-year term.

Final items before the Board included the approval of two innovative and honors courses, as well as two physical education exemptions. Both items were approved unanimously by the Board.

The Greenville County Schools Board of Trustees will convene again on Tuesday, Nov. 17. For more information, visit the Board’s website
