Eastside High School’s Lyndez Smith is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by GreerNews.com.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until 6 p.m on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

Smith had five tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception return for a touchdown in the Eagles' 12-7 win over Mauldin.

Nominees for the week of October 18-24 included Smith, Marquiel Troupe of Blue Ridge, and Tre' Segarra of Byrnes.

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2026-2027 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
