The Greer Farmers Market will be hosting its annual trick-or-treat market on Oct. 24 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in Greer City Park.
According to officials with the event, there will be over 45 local vendors, live music performed by Chris Wayne, food trucks and, of course, plenty of candy. The Greer Farmers Market partners with Greer Alive every year to bring this event to town.
“Every year seems to be a little bit bigger, with more people showing up and getting involved,” said Maggie Blair, Director of the Greer Farmers Market. “It's just great to see all the smiles and old friends connecting all right in the middle of Greer.”
Community members can come out to the event on Friday, Oct. 24, in the park. Costumes are encouraged, and vendors will be handing out candy at their tents. Blair says that many of the vendors will have Halloween-themed items, and all of them are local within 50 miles of Greer.
“You're definitely supporting local small businesses — people who are crafters and making things with their own skill, oftentimes in their home or their workshops here in the Upstate,” Blair said.
Just three weeks following the trick-or-treat event, Greer Alive and the Greer Farmers Market will host its annual Chili Cookoff on Nov. 14. The competition is open to businesses, groups and individuals, and it currently has a few spots remaining for competitors and judges. Sign-ups for both are available on Greer Farmers Market’s website through Oct. 31.
