The Greer Fire Department responded to a structure fire with entrapment at 213 Mason Street late at night on Friday, Jan. 30.

According to the department, a 911 call was received at 11:08 p.m., with units arriving on scene at 11:13 p.m. Firefighters encountered active fire conditions and confirmed that occupants were trapped inside the residence.

Three victims were removed from the residence and transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. The fire was brought under control by 11:39 p.m., and no firefighter injuries were reported. Automatic aid departments from Tyger River Fire Department, Taylor’s Fire Department and Boiling Springs Fire Department also assisted on scene.

The fire was determined to have been caused by a space heater. The incident remains under investigation. GreerNews will continue to follow this story and update as necessary.
