Nominees for the week of August 15-22 are:
 
Tanner Tumblin, Riverside boys volleyball
Tumblin was the standout performer during a flawless week of play for Riverside boys volleyball, leading the Warriors to sweeps over Dorman and Mauldin.
 
Calvin McCoy, Greer football
In a 45-31 win over Woodmont, McCoy did a little bit of everything. The senior RB rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns while also coming down with two interceptions on defense.
 
Alice Bridges, Eastside girls volleyball
Bridges, who is just a freshman, played an outstanding tournament at Byrnes over the weekend, being named all-tournament and helping the Lady Eagles capture the Silver Bracket championship.
 
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week will be a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2026-2027 school year.
