A new boutique in Greer is giving local artists a space to showcase and sell their work.

Ruby Jade, located on Poinsett Street near downtown Greer, opened in November 2025. The store offers a variety of prints, crochet work, upcycled clothing and more, created by artists from the Upstate.

“The biggest thing for us is to create a community of artists that support each other,” said owner Kyndall Stewart. “It has been such a cool experience, and I feel like it’s really started to create that little community.”

Ruby Jade was created following several years of conversations between Stewart and her co-owner Kayle Doan. The two began working together in 2019 through Stewart’s graphic design company, Kaleidoscopic Creative, which now shares a building with Ruby Jade.

The graphic design business was originally based in Greenville, but when Stewart had her first daughter, Finley, she knew she wanted to be closer to her home in Greer. She and Doan also wanted to find a way to bring more of their “for fun” artwork into the community.

“With Kaleidoscopic Creative, we are constantly creating other people’s ideas. But art for art’s sake, as an artist, I think that that’s where you really shine,” Stewart said. “We have to refill our creative pond, and the store allows us to do that — to create things that we love and just put it out there for people.”

So in 2025, with an idea and lots of paint, Stewart and Doan made the move and opened Ruby Jade. The storefront now features work from around 10 local artists, including Stewart, Doan and the rest of the small team at Kaleidoscopic.

“We love highlighting the artistic side of Greer and having a space for it,” said Doan. “This space is specifically for the artist. You can come here, express yourself and just make what you love.”

Moving forward, Stewart and Doan hope to continue growing the community of artists represented at Ruby Jade.
