Prisma Health today announced an agreement to acquire 36 urgent care locations in South Carolina (formerly Doctor's Care) from Novant Health, expanding access to convenient, high-quality care for communities across the state.
The acquisition includes approximately 500 team members. Following the close, expected November 1, 2026, the centers will operate under Prisma Health Urgent Care.
Current patients will continue to receive care without interruption during the transition. Patients will continue to have access to walk-in and virtual care services, including respiratory testing, X-rays, and labs. Now, they also will have connections to Prisma Health's network of primary, specialty and hospital-based care when needed.

While the vast majority of centers will remain in their current locations, a small number may be relocated to a neighboring center. The goal is to retain urgent care team members, with those impacted by any site consolidation offered positions at neighboring centers.
