KD Trial Lawyers proudly announces that Ryan F. McCarty has been inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national, invitation-only organization that recognizes the nation’s most accomplished trial lawyers and judges for excellence in advocacy and professionalism.
Membership in ABOTA is reserved for attorneys with significant civil jury trial experience and a demonstrated reputation for integrity. The organization is dedicated to preserving the right to a civil jury trial as guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment and to upholding the ethical and technical standards that define the nation’s most respected advocates.
“I am honored to join ABOTA and stand alongside an exceptional group of trial lawyers devoted to justice and the civil jury system,” said McCarty. “ABOTA embodies the highest standards of advocacy and professionalism, ensuring that these principles are preserved for future generations while promoting fairness and integrity in the legal system.”
McCarty was inducted into ABOTA during the organization’s 2026 annual meeting and black-tie dinner. He joins KD Trial Lawyers partner Wes A. Kissinger, a long-standing ABOTA member, in this distinguished honor.
McCarty joined KD Trial Lawyers in 2015, representing clients in personal injury and property litigation, including auto, motorcycle and truck accidents, premises liability, eminent domain and land use disputes. He began his legal career at the Seventh Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office and has tried cases to verdict before both judges and juries.
Active in the community, McCarty serves as an officer of the Spartanburg Area Citadel Alumni Club and on the Government Relations Committee for the Citadel Alumni Association. In 2018, he was appointed by Governor Henry D. McMaster to the Spartanburg County Commission for Higher Education.
