A Greer man has been charged by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) in connection with an alleged lottery ticket fraud scheme.
SLED announced Monday that Tyquentin Fitzgerald Drummond, 42, of Greer, was charged with intent to defraud, counterfeit game tickets on Thursday, Aug. 20. The investigation was requested by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
According to an arrest warrant, investigators allege Drummond attempted to defraud the South Carolina Education Lottery on June 11 using scratch-off tickets at a Quik Trip on Grandview Drive in Simpsonville. The warrant alleges the tickets had previously been stolen from the Corner Mart on NE Main Street in Greenville.
SLED says surveillance footage confirmed Drummond presented the tickets to the lottery retailer for winnings.
Drummond was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center following his arrest.
The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
