Spartanburg County is hosting its Annual Community Clean-Up event this weekend, giving residents a chance to dispose of eligible household items.

Spartanburg County residents are invited to attend the clean-up on Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The event will be held near the Spartanburg County Recycling Center at 199 Gowens Rd., Spartanburg.

The Community Clean-Up is limited to Spartanburg County residents only. Here’s a look at what will be accepted:

ACCEPTED ITEMS:

  • Yard debris

  • Construction and demolition debris

  • Furniture

  • Batteries, including lithium, lithium-ion, Ni-Cad and Ni-MH

  • Metal and appliances

  • Electronics

  • Tires (limit five per resident)

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Household garbage

  • Hazardous materials

  • Liquids

  • Materials from businesses
