The Spartanburg District Five School Board of Trustees convened on Monday evening for the first time since Winter Storm Fern canceled their January meeting.Â
The Board began its meeting by swearing in five members for four-year terms. These individuals were elected in the Nov. 4, 2025, General Election. Amy Faulkner and Caroline Ford were newly sworn in, and incumbents Kevin Goode, Scott Clement and Mille Malone were re-sworn in.
Once all board members were sworn in, the Board Officers were also elected. Millie Malone was elected to be Chairman of the Board, Jeff Boland was selected as Vice Chair, and Kevin Goode was selected as Secretary. All three individuals were approved to assume these positions unanimously by the Board.
Once elected, Chairman Malone made the public aware of the appointments to the Board of Trustees Committees. There are three committees on the Board, including the Finance Committee, Policy Committee, and Curriculum and Instruction Committee. Here’s a look at which board members will be on those committees:
